Privacy Policy — 말씀노트 (Bible Note)
Last updated: 28 August 2026
Bible Note (the “App”) is a Bible study note app made by an independent developer, Beomsoo. This document explains how the App handles information.
한국어
- Google Play (Android) · Apple App Store (iOS) —

English
1. There is no developer server
The App has no developer server. The contents of your notes are never transmitted to the developer under any circumstances; the developer neither receives them nor can see them. There is no account or sign‑up with the App itself.
The only information that connects you to the developer is a single email address, and only if you turn on Note backup (see section 4). Beyond that, the App does not collect contacts, location, address book, photos, or similar data.
2. Information stored on your device
Your notes, selected passages, and settings (theme, font, language, etc.) are stored only on your device by default. This data is never sent to the developer or the developer’s servers, and it is removed when you uninstall the App.
Only if you turn on Note backup are your notes also saved to your own cloud (see section 3).
3. Note backup (optional · your own cloud)
If you turn on Note backup in Settings, the App saves your notes to your own cloud so they return when you change devices or reinstall. You choose where:
- Google Drive (Android · iOS) — Notes are stored in Drive’s hidden app‑specific area (appDataFolder). Only Bible Note can reach this area; it is separate from your other files and from other apps. The App requests exactly one permission,
drive.appdata, which does not allow it to read or see any other file in your Drive. - iCloud (iOS only) — Notes are stored in the CloudKit private database of the iCloud account signed in on your device. Only you and Bible Note can reach it; neither Apple nor the developer reads its contents.
In both cases:
- It is optional. If you don’t turn it on, your notes never leave your device. You can disconnect at any time in Settings.
- The transfer goes directly from your device to Google or Apple. It does not pass through any developer server, and the developer cannot access these notes.
- Backed‑up notes count against your own cloud storage quota. See section 8 for how to delete them.
About signing in. Turning on Note backup involves signing in with Google or with Apple. This exists solely to reach your own storage. All the App receives is your email address and, for Apple and only if you allow it, your name. Your password is never given to the App.
If you use Sign in with Apple, you may choose Apple’s Hide My Email. In that case the App and the developer never learn your real email address — only the relay address Apple generates.
4. Where your email address is used (important)
If you turn on Note backup and sign in, the App sends that email address, together with a stable identifier derived from it (an irreversible hash of the address), to RevenueCat, the purchase‑management service. It is used for exactly two things:
- Answering your support requests — so that when you write in about a purchase or a restore, the developer can find which purchase is yours. Without it the dashboard holds nothing but anonymous random strings, and the developer has no way to locate your purchase.
- Gifts and complimentary access — so the developer can unlock a feature for a specific person at no charge.
To be explicit:
- If you do not turn on Note backup, no email address is ever sent. Purchases made without it remain entirely anonymous, exactly as before.
- This email address is never used for advertising or marketing, and the developer does not send you unsolicited mail.
- It is never sold or handed to any third party. RevenueCat processes it on the developer’s behalf as a service provider.
- You can have it deleted — see section 8.
5. In‑app purchase information
To offer the optional original‑language dictionary unlock (a one‑time in‑app purchase), the App uses your store’s in‑app purchase system (Google Play on Android, the App Store on iOS) and RevenueCat (a purchase‑validation and restore service). When you make or restore a purchase, the following is processed:
- Purchase status and product identifier (product ID)
- An identifier and basic device information used to validate and restore the purchase
- Only if you turned on Note backup, the email address and stable identifier described in section 4
The developer never receives your payment card details or any payment instrument information. Payment is handled by your store (Google Play or the App Store), and the stores do not disclose the identity of purchasers to developers.
6. Ads and tracking
The App contains no ads and uses no analytics for advertising or tracking purposes. It does not link your information with your activity in other companies’ apps or websites, and it does not provide data to data brokers.
7. Third parties
The App exchanges information only with the following:
- Google Play (Android) · Apple App Store (iOS) — processing and validating in‑app purchases
- RevenueCat — purchase validation and restore, plus storing the email address and identifier from section 4 if you turned on Note backup
- Google (Google Drive) — only if you chose Google Drive for Note backup. Your notes are stored in your own Drive.
- Apple (Sign in with Apple · iCloud) — only if you used Apple sign‑in or iCloud backup on iOS. Your notes are stored in your own iCloud.
In these cases Google and Apple act as your storage and authentication providers, and the developer does not access that data. We do not sell your data or share it for advertising.

8. Data retention and deletion
Notes and settings on your device are removed when you uninstall the App.
Notes backed up to the cloud (only if you turned Note backup on)
- Google Drive — (1) Disconnect Note backup in Settings (your notes stay on the device); (2) go to Google Drive → Settings → Manage apps, find Bible Note, and choose Delete hidden app data; (3) revoke account access at https://myaccount.google.com/permissions.
- iCloud — (1) Disconnect Note backup in Settings; (2) on iPhone go to Settings → [your name] → iCloud → Manage Storage, find Bible Note and delete its data. Deleting the app and its iCloud data together does this in one step.
- Revoking Sign in with Apple — on iPhone, Settings → [your name] → Sign‑In & Security → Sign in with Apple, then stop using Bible Note.
The email address held at RevenueCat — write to the address below and it will be deleted. Please include the email address you signed in with so the record can be found. It is removed promptly on confirmation. Deleting it does not affect anything you purchased — purchases are tied to your store account, not to this record.
Purchase records — retained by your store (Google Play or the App Store) and by RevenueCat for billing and refund purposes. These are required by law and by store policy and cannot be deleted at the developer’s discretion.
9. Children
The App is not directed to children under 13, though its content is suitable for general audiences.
10. Changes to this policy
This policy may be updated as needed; the date at the top will reflect any changes.
